About This Event

Predicting Psychological Individual Differences from Mobile Sensing Data

Mobile sensing technologies provide a unique opportunity to capture rich, real-time behavioral data in everyday environments.
In this talk, I explore how data from mobile devices—such as communication and social behavior, physical activity, and app usage—can be used to predict individual psychological differences, including traits like personality, affect, and cognitive abilities.
I will discuss key methodologies for extracting and interpreting mobile sensing data, the challenges of managing privacy concerns, and the potential for personalized interventions.
Results from empirical studies will be presented to demonstrate how machine learning models can predict psychological outcomes, highlighting both current limitations and future possibilities in this emerging field.
