The ECNP Immuno-NeuroPsychiatry Network organised a webinar on ‘T cell pathogenesis and novel immunetherapies for mood disorders’ on 9 December 2024.

The pathogenesis of mood disorders remains largely unexplained. The last three decades studies have identified several immune pathophysiological mechanisms and potential immune predictors of treatment outcome for mood disorders. The integration of all these data into a neuro-immune model starts to make it possible to identify homogeneous subgroups of patients, diagnosed by objective and quantifiable markers, which enables therapy strategies that are more effective than the regular ones because they are based on the correction of the underlying immune biological mechanisms. Focus of the webinar will be on introductions to premature T cell senescence, and a structured round table with chairs and speakers on a strategy to rapidly introduce T cell and anti-inflammatory therapies.
