Highlights in anxiety disorders

"Gregers Wegener, M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc, is Professor of Experimental Psychiatry at Aarhus University, Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit, Department of Clinical Medicine.
He received his doctorate in 2001 from the Aarhus University, followed by clinical and postdoctoral training at various institutions. He is the director of the Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit at Aarhus University since 2013.
His lab uses translational animal models and human material to identify pathways and putative drug targets involved in the neurobiology behind depression and anxiety. New drug targets and mechanisms concerning the individual’s vulnerability to alterations in the environment and subsequent development of disease are investigated, in particular, disease-related effects of exogenous physical and metabolic stressors."
